We offer a long-term room in an established, calm and eco-minded flatshare in Gentbrugge, just outside Ghent centre. The house is called “Cyclo Casa” and we are looking for a respectful, independent housemate who is comfortable in an international environment.

The main room is available from 7 April. It is possible to move in earlier: you can stay in a smaller room in the same house until 7 April at a lower rent.

The house

• Large shared house in an old 1911 building, renovated inside

• Shared, fully equipped kitchen

• Shared living room with projector

• Garden with deck, and garage / workspace for bikes

• Fast unlimited internet (Telenet)

• Gas-free: the house is heated with an eco heat pump (no gas connection)

Location

• Gentbrugge, quiet residential area just outside Ghent city centre

• About 10 minutes by bike to city centre, UGent and Gent-Sint-Pieters station

• Tram and buses within walking distance

• Supermarkets, fitness and green areas (Gentbrugse Meersen, De Porre) nearby

Current housemates

• International working people in their 30s–40s (IT, architecture, hospitality, etc.)

• Atmosphere: calm, independent, friendly; not a party house, but we enjoy a chat or shared meal from time to time

Rent and conditions

• Main room: 490 €/month

• Small room (if you move in before 7 April): 390 €/month for that period

• Deposit: 920 € (paid at contract signature)

• Official registration (domicile) at the address is possible

• No pets (allergies & hygiene)

• Weekly cleaning rotation: each housemate cleans one part of the house

• In the future, it may be possible to pay a bit less if you take on extra tasks in maintenance / organisation

Who we are looking for

• Mainly a working person (or PhD / late-stage student with similar rhythm)

• Long-term stay (ideally 1 year or more)

• Quiet, respectful, non-smoker, okay with house rules and cleaning rotation

• Comfortable speaking English in an international house

• When you would like to move in and for how long

• Whether you would start directly in the main room from 7 April or already in the small room before that date

• A short introduction of yourself (who you are, what you do, daily rhythm, what you look for in a shared home)

• Any profile with references (Couchsurfing, Airbnb, Workaway, etc.) if you have one

Visits are usually on Saturdays between 14:00 and 16:00, but other times are possible by agreement. The room is only guaranteed once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid.

Colocation internationale calme à Gentbrugge (Gand). Chambre disponible à long terme à partir du 7 avril, avec possibilité d’emménager plus tôt dans une petite chambre à loyer réduit. Grande maison rénovée avec cuisine équipée, salon avec projecteur, jardin, garage à vélos et chauffage par pompe à chaleur (sans gaz). Colocataires internationaux actifs (30–40 ans), ambiance respectueuse et non-festive. Loyer 490 €/mois (chambre principale), 390 €/mois pour la petite chambre avant le 7 avril, caution 920 €. Domiciliation possible, pas d’animaux, rotation ménage hebdomadaire.
